I have always loved London, especially at night, so imagine my excitement when I was invited to The London Eye Lounge Launch. Arriving at the Riverside Rooms, then along a beautifully lit stairway to be greeted with a delicious glass of Pommery was the perfect start to a great evening.
Under a sparkling chandelier, while chatting to many interesting people, I was then led onto the Eye itself. This was my first trip and as I suspected, it was both romantic and breath-taking with more champagne and canapés on offer.
After the rotation, we were directed back into the Riverside Rooms for yet more delicious food from various corners of the globe.
In the Asian Room, while watching an amazing ribbon dancer, we sampled splendid sushi, spring rolls, beef curry and other dishes from that region.
In the next room, we found ourselves experiencing the messy but finger-licking “Make your own blinis” and an assortment of cocktails…… this was definitely my favourite room!
There was even a hidden Gin Speakeasy with a secret password “I have appointment with Doctor Gin!”
What a wonderful experience, and many thanks to Merlin Events and Big Wednesday for the invitation. I was certainly dragging my feet when it was time to leave.
