Jupiter Hotels has announced that Jamie Milligan, born and raised in Dumfries, has been appointed General Manager of the Holiday Inn Dumfries hotel in Scotland.
Jamie Milligan has moved back to Dumfries and taken the helm at the hotel after establishing a successful career in the hospitality industry managing award winning hotels, restaurants and nightclubs across Scotland for both national and privately owned chains.
Milligan was most recently Group Executive Manager for one of Scotland’s most exclusive venues, Broxmouth Park, East Lothian.
As General Manager of the 71-bedroom Holiday Inn, he will oversee the day-to-day running of the hotel in addition to managing the 52 members of staff and maintaining the high standards of the Holiday Inn brand. The hotel also boasts an onsite Bar & Restaurant and can cater for meetings and events for up to 80 people.
Commenting on his appointment, Jamie Milligan said: “Having lived in and grown up in Dumfries & Galloway my heart firmly lies here. When the position of General Manager at the Holiday Inn became available, this was the perfect opportunity for me to come back home after being out of the area for the past seven years. The hotel is in a great location and a stone’s throw from local attractions and the train station.”
Jamie and his team want to establish the hotel in the marketplace so it is front of mind for those seeking accommodation, events space and food and drink. The hotel has lots of strengths due to its location, brand, service and ‘Yes I can’ philosophy. Jamie is looking forward to working with the new owners, Jupiter Hotels, and the team to grow the hotel’s revenue and reputation.
