TT Liquor to open February 2017 on Kingsland Road

By James Russell: TT Liquor to open February 2017 on Kingsland Road

February 2, 2017

Launching late February 2017, TT Liquor will introduce a spectacular new cocktail experience to Kingsland Road in Shoreditch. A multi-faceted venue set across three floors, the project will boast a specialist liquor store and an intimate subterranean cocktail bar, focussing on tasting experiences. Uniquely padlocked ‘Deposit Boxes’ will also be available for hire to allow guests to keep private liquor collections at the venue. The upper floors will host TT Liquor’s signature cocktail making classes, experiences, and events.

TT Liquor is the latest project from Alastair Tatton and Stephen Thompson whose renowned creativity brings to life an innovative new East London establishment.

Specialist Liquor Store

Entering through a street-side liquor store, on Kingsland Road, a knowledgeable storekeeper will guide guests through a selection of over 1,000 liquors. The store will stock difficult-to-get-hold-of bottles and curated gift sets which combine the glassware, equipment and spirits used to make various classic cocktails or personalised favourites. Everything stocked in the liquor store will also be available to enjoy in the subterranean cocktail bar at a special ‘drink-in’ price. Regulars will be encouraged to create their own private liquor collection in one of the many ‘Deposit Boxes’, accessible each time they visit.

Cocktail Bar

The bar will have capacity for 120 guests and showcase important eras through the history of cocktails. The menu comprises of four different ‘journeys’ each including four cocktails embodying a dedicated era. Expert mixologists will explain the history of each cocktail, its relationship to other classic cocktails, and give an analysis of its ingredients and flavours. Cocktails are accompanied by small plates of food, selected to complement the specific characteristics of each drink.

Tasting Experiences

Historic jail cells housed within the bar (remnants from the building’s use as a police station in the 19th Century) will be atmospheric alcoves hosting tasting experiences including classes on whisky, rum, gin, plus local and worldwide beers. Each vault can house 10 to 15 guests at a time, with the same tasting experiences for larger groups offered in the upstairs lounges.

Cocktail Making Classes

TT Liquor draws upon a decade’s worth of experience teaching cocktail classes, and can host groups of almost any size. Classes are completely interactive – every guest gets their own area at a bar station and is taught to make their own cocktails by an experienced mixologist. The cocktail classes take place in a range of lounge spaces (accommodating up to 170 guests in total) that will be available for private hire as studios or events spaces and can also host pop-up dining and bar industry events.
