The Peak Health Club & Spa at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London’s chic Knightsbridge district has appointed spa and beauty industry expert Ceri Silk as its new Spa Manager.
With 30 years’ experience in the industry, Ceri began her spa and beauty career in her local salon in Newcastle before moving to London in 1989 to study for her professional beauty qualifications at the London College of Fashion. Her first role on qualifying was as Account Executive for Clarins in Selfridges.
Since then, Ceri has moved her way up in the industry, holding a number of health and beauty management roles in the UK and Asia. These include setting up and running a new training academy for Saks Hair & Beauty; expanding the SKEYNDOR brand into Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and India as Regional Area Manager; and founding the Glow Spa in Hong Kong.
Ceri joins The Peak spa team from Saks Hair & Beauty where she was Beauty Business Development Manager from September 2015. Her responsibilities at Saks included leading the Saks beauty team of experts and educators, supporting Saks’ beauty franchises in the day-to-day running of their businesses, helping to plan new salon openings and sourcing and testing new products for Saks beauty menu.
In her new role, Ceri will oversee all aspects of The Peak spa’s operations, including managing a team of 10 therapists and working with the spa’s beauty and skincare partners on the development of new treatments and introduction of new ranges. Launched in May 2016, The Peak spa menu features cutting-edge treatments from Spanish scientific skincare brand SKEYNDOR, renowned facial experts HydraFacial MD, organic Swiss brand PHYTO5 and celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann.
In addition to its eight treatment rooms, The Peak Health Club & Spa features a state-of-the art gym with stunning views across Knightsbridge, 20-metre indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, two fitness studios offering more than 70 classes a week, a full suite of personal training options and The Club Room lounge for post-workout drinks or a nutritious bite.
