The Ardeonaig Hotel has been a staple of the Stirlingshire countryside for almost 100 years, but 2017 welcomes a new chapter for the establishment, which has seen new ownership and a new head chef enter its hallowed doors.
Bought in June by reputed hotelier Ian Hitchins, and having enjoyed over £1.8 million spent on rennovations, The Ardeonaig Hotel & Restaurant joins his portfolio of properties which include the local favourite, The Killin Hotel. Hitchins has brought in new Head Chef David McCulloch, whose blend of locally sourced produce and innovative menu promises to delight the palette of guests, both new and returning.
With a CV which boasts stints as Kincraig Castle and Fonab Castle, David McCulloch’s food is as interesting as it is delicious. Informed by his passion for foraging, McCulloch’s dishes are an exciting exploration of flavours achieved with locally sourced ingredients.
Perched on the shores of the Loch Tay, The Ardeonaig offers guests the chance to escape from the hectic nature of modern life. Whether they wish to fish in the waters of Loch Tay, relax in the luxury garden suites, or luxuriate in the peace, romance and tranquility of the 13 acres of hotel grounds, Ardeonaig ensures guests will leave relaxed and revitalised. Not only this, but the hotel can also be booked for exclusive use – providing the perfect backdrop to your special event or wedding.
