Le Pressoir d’Argent Gordon Ramsay, which opened in September 2015, was awarded a one-star rating in the Michelin Guide for France 2016, just four months after opening. Earlier this week Le Pressoir d’Argent Gordon Ramsay was awarded a two star Michelin rating.
Born in Scotland, Ramsay grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon. His restaurants have been awarded 16 Michelin stars in total. His signature restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, London, has held 3 Michelin stars since 2001.
Located in Bordeaux, on the first floor of the five-star InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hôtel, Le Pressoir d’Argent offers a gastronomic experience with a menu that features the highest quality locally-sourced produce alongside British produce most notably English sparkling wine.
Le Pressoir d’Argent is named ‘The Silver Press’ after the rare Christofle solid silver lobster press in the centre of the dining room.
In the kitchen is Executive Chef Gilad Peled who has a wealth of fine dining experience having worked alongside Gordon Ramsay and Chef Clare Smyth at the three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road.
It is Gordon Ramsay’s ambition to win three Michelin stars in the home of haute cuisine, this latest recognition will encourage Chef no doubt that his ambitions are realistic.
The only other British Chef to have held a Michelin star in France was Pied à Terre co-founder Richard Neat, receiving it in 2000 with his Cannes restaurant Neat, two years later he lost the award.
Gordon Ramsay, Gilad Peled and team Le Pressoir d’Argent achieving two Michelin stars in France is a truly remarkable achievement, felicitations!
