Koh Thai Tapas continues to strengthen with prestigious awards shortlistings

By James Russell: Koh Thai Tapas continues to strengthen with prestigious awards shortlistings

January 23, 2017

Following the MBO in December, the brand establishes itself against major national competitors with award shortlistings including Marketing Campaign of the Year, Multiple Causal Dining Restaurant of the Year and Restaurant of the Year amid expansion plans for 2017.

It has been a busy few months in The Koh Group’s Dorset-based Head Office following a major management buy-out deal in December, led by Founder and CEO, Andy Lennox just days before launching their 12th site in Lymington. Whilst the newest site within the boutique restaurant group proves to be trading exceptionally well with rave reviews across all platforms, the Group itself is also being recognised for its achievements within the industry.

This week, it was announced that The Koh Group are finalists for both Marketing Campaign of the Year and Multiple Causal Dining Restaurant of the Year Awards at the February Casual Dining Awards to be hosted at London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel. The Koh Group faces fierce competition for the latter from ASK Italian, Brasserie Blanc, The Breakfast Club, Cosy Club, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Giggling Squid, Nandos, Pizza Express and Wagamama. The shortlisting follows The Koh Group’s recent wins for Brand of the Year at The Eat Out Awards.

In the same day, Koh Thai Tapas, Bath was also announced as a finalist for Restaurant of the Year in the Bath Life Awards, also hosted in February.

“2017 is already an exciting time for the brand with the recent news of our MBO and the coming launch of Koh Lounge taking residency at Bournemouth Triangle. At this present time, it is equally important for us to focus on our existing estate, brand and the values that we are known for: Food, service, value and atmosphere. With the culmination of years of hard work, our partnership with Alcuin Capital and the industry recognition we are receiving positions us perfectly for the next phase of growth and I’m incredibly excited for the future!” Andrew Lennox, CEO and Koh Founder, The Koh Group.

Koh will be working with their new equity partners Alcuin Capital to help support this next phase of growth. The primary strategy is to target new sites within secondary city and town locations in established markets and new ones across the South West, South East and nationally.
