Brigid Simmonds, Chief Executive, British Beer & Pub Association, has commented on figures released today by the Office of the Pubs Code Adjudicator:
“Whilst it will take time to obtain a full picture of the ongoing demand, it is encouraging to see that the rate of new enquiries appears to have fallen sharply, since November.
“However, there is clearly good awareness of the Code, and this serves to highlight the need for further guidance from the Adjudicator over the coming months, and we and our members are working closely with his office.
“We also now have an opportunity to show the benefits of tenancies and leases with supply agreements and continue to build on the industry’s own voluntary schemes, as we have seen the PGB do today, with the announcement that those in the part of the sector subject to statutory regulation can now opt to have the benefits of the PIRRS service.”
