The spectacular Thornton Manor Estate, prominently placed on the Wirral in Cheshire, has appointed industry respected resort hotelier Marc Smith as their General Manager.
Marc joins the estate following a Regional General Managers role with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts. Prior to this he spent four years as General Manager at the privately owned Formby Hall, Golf Resort & Spa. To Smith this was the right time move back into the private sector, with owners committed to take the Thornton Manor brand to the next level.
Thornton Manor is a unique and stunning wedding, events and accommodation venue on a privately owned and managed 125 acre estate. With four stunning venues catering for any event or wedding from 20 – 1000 guests, Thornton Manor is as perfect for small social gatherings as it is large corporate seminars. The jewel in the crown being the fantastic Manor House, this former home to the Viscounts Leverhulme is steeped in history and provides an elegant backdrop to every occasion.
There are great plans ahead too. Enhancements to the accommodation offering are underway and planning has been secured to develop a stunning tea room/bistro restaurant and bar that will truly enhance the guest experience. Further plans are afoot to add Wi-Fi and smart televisions to the 17 cottages within the grounds. Marc and the team predict a very busy and highly successful future for the Thornton Manor brand with over 300 wedding bookings already secured for next year.
