More than 30 youngsters received an early Christmas present when they were greeted by Santa Claus at a special event organised by Cash for Kids.

Macdonald Pittodrie House, based at Chapel of Garioch, near Inverurie teamed up with Northsound Radio to give sick, disabled and disadvantaged children from across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire some festive cheer.

Boys and girls, aged between four and eight-years old, enjoyed an afternoon tea and a visit to Santa’s Grotto where the children all received a gift from Santa’s elves.

Michael Bauman, General Manager at Macdonald Pittodrie House, said: “It proved to be a tremendous event full of goodwill and it was terrific to see that the kids all went home happy. We’re grateful to Cash for Kids for the opportunity to bring some joy to these young kids who have been through some hard times.

“It’s important for us to support these kinds of events, and not just at this time of year. Not only is giving back the right thing to do but it truly reflects the ethos of the company and it’s something the whole team is immensely proud of.”

In the New Year, the hotel will host a charity ball at cost price in aid of F.R.O.M. Scotland – a charity which supports orphaned children in Malawi, Africa. Further information on the event, which takes place Friday, February 24th.

One of the finest four-star hotels in the Aberdeen area, Macdonald Pittodrie House is set within its own ancient grounds and offers the best in breathtaking scenery and facilities, including the acclaimed two AA rosette Mither Tap restaurant.

Nestled at the foot of Bennachie, the hotel’s picturesque setting within 2,400 acres of scenic estate land makes it a popular choice for family holidays, business and weddings.

Cash for Kids, which supports young people under the age of 18, provides grant funding to families, children’s groups and associations across the north-east on a quarterly basis.
