Heart of London business Alliance welcomes new Chief Executive

By James Russell: Heart of London business Alliance welcomes new Chief Executive

December 18, 2016

Ros Morgan, Chief Executive, Heart of London Business Alliance

Heart of London Business Alliance, the representative organisation for more than 400 businesses and 100 property owners in the Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and St James’s areas, today formally announces Ros Morgan as Chief Executive.

An established figure in the Business Improvement District (BID) sector, Ms Morgan brings eleven years’ experience in place management and economic development to the role where she will lead the BID renewal process and set the organisation’s ambitions for the future.

Ms Morgan joins Heart of London Business Alliance following five years at the helm of Kingstonfirst – the UK’s first Business Improvement District and one of the largest in the country with almost 1,000 business members – and Croydon BID prior.

Andy Godfrey, Chairman of Heart of London Business Alliance says, “Our success is attributed to the close working relationship with our businesses, property owners and partners. On behalf of the Board, I am confident the BID, under Ros’ strong leadership, will continue to ensure our members’ priorities are our priority.

Mr Godfrey adds, “At successive BIDs, Ros’ leadership has produced award-winning teams, while bringing immediate results and returns for investors. There is no doubt Ros will match the same dedication and passion for results to her new role; we look forward to our future success steered by Ros.”

Ms Morgan today published the BID’s five-year business proposal, which sets out five key priorities for the future, from investing in the area’s status as a world-class destination, through to robust resilience and infrastructure for businesses.

Ms Morgan has pledged to deliver the plan through collaboration with local businesses and the vital support of Westminster City Council, the Mayor of London and Transport for London.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Morgan says, “I join the Heart of London Business Alliance at an exciting and pivotal time. Our mission is to ensure the total experience here is genuinely world-class and remains as relevant today as it did when the district was founded 15 years ago. Our business plan sets out to deliver on this promise, through our vision for a vibrant and successful destination with a truly global reputation and distinct identity central to London’s West End. I look forward to achieving every success alongside the Board and our valued member businesses.”

Ms Morgan joins the organisation following Sarah Porter’s departure from the role; Ms Porter successfully led the business alliance since its formation.
