British actor, Brian Conley to host Arora Ball 2016

By James Russell: British actor, Brian Conley to host Arora Ball 2016

December 2, 2016

The Arora Charitable Foundation, founded by Surinder and Sunita Arora to manage the charitable work of the Arora Group, today announced that comedian, television presenter and actor, Brian Conley will host its third Arora Ball, at which Sir Cliff Richard is amongst the list of attending supporters.

Lord Jeffrey Archer will act as Auctioneer for the evening, with exclusive prizes including Sir Cliff Richard’s personal car, a Mercedes 500SL with one of his personalised number plates, CR 2000; a weekend in the South of France on a luxury yacht; and an exclusive glamour experience with Unicef UK Ambassador and Supermodel, Claudia Schiffer1.

The Ball takes place on Saturday 3 December 2016 at the Group’s newest flagship hotel, InterContinental London – The O2. The evening has a Gold Masquerade theme and will include a champagne reception, a sumptuous four-course dinner, and a range of special performances.

Commenting on the event, Sir Cliff Richard said: “It is not only a pleasure but also a privilege to participate in and attend the Arora Ball, which benefits such worthy causes. I was delighted to be able to support Surinder and Sunita Arora and I hope that the donation of my car to the auction helps to raise as much money as possible for the beneficiaries.”

This year’s Arora Ball will be held in aid of Unicef, the world’s leading children’s organisation, and Shiksha ki Ore, a campaign by India’s news and infotainment network, NDTV, in partnership with the Kalinga Institute Of Social Sciences which helps educate underprivileged children in India.

The most recent Arora Ball, held in 2014 at Sofitel London Heathrow, raised over £750,000 for two causes, Evelina London Children’s Hospital and LILY Against Human Trafficking; a target which organisers of this year’s balls are aiming to surpass.

  • Sunita Arora, joint founder of the Arora Charitable Foundation, commented: “We are delighted to have Brian Conley, Sir Cliff Richard and Lord Jeffrey Archer join us to lead proceedings at the Ball. They will be the perfect hosts for the event and whilst the evening itself promises to be a spectacular affair, what is foremost in our mind is raising as much money as possible for the nominated causes.”
