The SelfCookingCenter by Rational with triple pane glass cooking cabinet door, LED lighting and energy meter

By James Russell: The SelfCookingCenter by Rational with triple pane glass cooking cabinet door, LED lighting and energy meter

November 22, 2016

Rational SelfCookingCenter® 101 and XS models

The SelfCookingCenter by Rational has a triple pane glass cabinet door and is equipped with efficient LED lighting. These innovations have further reduced the energy requirements of the already economical cooking appliances. The integrated energy meter on the new generation units also displays and saves the energy consumption figures.

Energy consumption is a significant cost factor in professional and commercial kitchens. Even minor savings can have a major effect at the end of the financial year. The issue of energy efficiency is therefore becoming more relevant and now plays a greater role in the purchasing decision making process.

Since Rational always strives to improve customer benefit, the research and development teams have made every effort to reduce the energy consumption of the new generation SelfCookingCenter even further. This has been achieved in various ways. The SelfCookingCenter is now equipped with a triple glass pane cooking cabinet door with a special heat reflective coating, which significantly reduces heat losses through the door. This alone has reduced the overall energy consumption by up to 10% compared to the previous model. Unlike standard triple glass pane, the panes on the SelfCookingCenter can be opened, which allows each individual pane to be cleaned easily. This ensures full visibility even after many years. However, this does not restrict the full insulating effect, and this can be felt in that the outer pane of the SelfCookingCenter hardly heats up and can be touched without any risk, even for longer periods. The modern LED lighting in the cooking cabinet and door also contributes to the energy saving and also provides optimal lighting right into the rear corners of the cabinet. LEDs are also very durable and therefore low-maintenance. A new function also displays the energy consumption of the SelfCookingCenter. This can either be displayed according to individual cooking processes, or even at the end of the day or week. This can be viewed via the control panel, and the data can be downloaded and processed on a PC, using software such as MS Excel.
