rhubarb adds Centre Point to its location portfolio

By James Russell: rhubarb adds Centre Point to its location portfolio

November 17, 2016

rhubarb, the renowned food and beverage operator is to add Centre Point to its growing portfolio of restaurants and bars in late 2017.

The all-day restaurant is set to be the flagship dining destination within the much-anticipated Centre Point revival. SAY Architects have been appointed to create a bold and vibrant interior that features digital art and reflects rhubarb’s creative and innovative approach to hospitality.

The iconic Grade II listed building, located between Oxford Street and Covent Garden, is currently being transformed by owners Almacantar, the property investment and development company. The transformation of Centre Point will result in 82 high-quality apartments and a new culinary destination. rhubarb’s restaurant will occupy the main floor of the bridge link at Centre Point, overlooking London’s newest square and Oxford Street.

Kathrin Hersel, Property Director, Almacantar commented:

“rhubarb’s focus on creativity and exceptional quality perfectly complements our rejuvenation of Centre Point. When Centre Point opens next year, it will be Central London’s finest destination.”

PB Jacobse, Managing Director at rhubarb comments:

“We are delighted to be developing another distinctive new food and drink concept in what is one of the London’s most iconic buildings. Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street in the City trades beyond expectations and Centre Point provides us with another opportunity to create an engaging and innovative concept, this time in the West End.

Opening our new restaurant at Centre Point will further strengthen the rhubarb operation which includes outlets in some of London’s most important visitor attractions and high volume sites including the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, Royal Albert Hall, Saatchi Gallery, Heathrow T3 and T5, London City Airport, Royal Ascot Racecourse and most recently, Goodwood Estate.
