To celebrate the changing of the seasons, Conrad London St. James is set to launch its latest limited edition afternoon tea, Winter Solstice. Symbolising the epitome of winter, guests will be able to indulge in this deliciously decadent afternoon tea, which combines fascinating seasonal flavours with a festive twist to whet your appetite.
Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea showcases a selection of sweet delicacies that herald the new season. The green apple and blackberry mousse and white forest gateaux are garnished with a Valrhona chocolate wreath. One of the finest chocolate brands in the world, Valrhona creates luxurious gourmet chocolate of the highest quality. The exquisite Manjari double chocolate orange tart is also served, rounding of this deliciously divine sweet course.
This touch of winter continues with an assortment of savoury creations – the classic turkey, sage and Parma ham sausage rolls and fig & blue cheese crostini is complimented by a unique selection of wintery roasted pecan scones, topped off with exquisite Devonshire clotted cream. A selection of festive and flavoursome finger sandwiches including beetroot and goats cheese, are also served to offer a delicious combination of favours.
Guests can enjoy the new afternoon tea in the beautiful setting of Emmeline’s. The inviting ambience of this chic and whimsical lounge is further enhanced by a live harpist on the weekend. The harpist performs a variety of unique classical interpretations of popular festive songs – making this the perfect setting for a multi-sensory afternoon tea experience.
“Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea was designed to celebrate the beauty of winter and Christmas. I wanted to create a luxury winter plate, with the colours and flavours that resonate with this time of year – which is why the chocolate wreath is a prominent feature in the afternoon tea” said Zoe Wager, Executive Pastry Chef at Conrad London St. James.
“We have added unexpected tastes to give it a festive feel such as cranberry and orange scones which are served with turkey, sage & Parma ham sausage rolls. The afternoon tea experience is a lovely treat after a busy day spent Christmas shopping or to warm up after a frosty winter walk.”
Established as the ultimate London afternoon tea destination, Conrad London St. James is dedicated to creating a contemporary twist on this British tradition. Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea will be available from 28th November 2016 until 13th February 2017 Conrad London St. James also collaborates with Sally Spratt of The Lust List, a high-profile illustrator, who has designed the menu for Winter Solstice.
