Tune Hotel Newcastle appoints new General Manager

By James Russell: Tune Hotel Newcastle appoints new General Manager

October 16, 2016

Tune Hotels, known for its only pay-for-what-you-need hotel concept, has appointed Leanne Ridley as General Manager of Tune Hotel, Newcastle.

With a previous career in phone sales, Leanne brought her exceptional customer service skills to Tune, where she started her hospitality career as a Guest Services Assistant in 2014. She has since worked her way up to Deputy Manager, Acting General Manager, and as of September 2016, full-time General Manager of Tune Newcastle.

In her new role at the 104 bed hotel, Leanne will work closely with the management team to ensure the hotel runs smoothly, efficiently, and retains its excellent guest satisfaction rating. Leanne’s proactive approach towards the running of the hotel hasn’t gone unnoticed – occupancy has increased over the last six months, and reviews across Tune’s popular social platforms on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, as well as TripAdvisor, are highly positive.

Leanne will continue to work closely with the team and stay at the forefront of the hotel’s day-to-day operations. Leanne comments, “Tune Newcastle has an incredible location in the city centre, so we have a constant flow of guests for both business and leisure purposes, especially at the weekend. My aim is to target the weekday commuters and professionals, ensuring they are aware of Tune’s great-value rooms.”

Jane Keenan, Head of Marketing at Tune Hotels UK, commented: “We are delighted to promote Leanne to General Manager – it’s truly well deserved. Leanne’s commitment to the role was clear during her six months as Acting General Manager and her hands-on management approach has been of great benefit to both her hardworking team and the hotel’s guests. Leanne is a shining example of the kind of enthusiastic leader we need as the business continues to expand in the UK. We currently operate eight highly successful hotels, with plans to launch two further sites very soon.”
