The Spice of Life: Cinnamon Soho is Back with a Zesty New Look and Menu

By James Russell: The Spice of Life: Cinnamon Soho is Back with a Zesty New Look and Menu

October 17, 2016

Cinnamon Soho, founded by award-winning chef Vivek Singh, has officially re-opened following an exciting and stylish interior re-design. Featuring a sensational new food menu, filled with mouth-watering modern Indian food and an equally impressive cocktail menu, Cinnamon Soho is truly back on the Soho map.

It’s All in The Detail

Focusing on a casual approach to modern Indian dining, Cinnamon Soho offers an alternative drinking and dining venue in the heart of Soho’s iconic Carnaby Street. The restaurant has been transformed into an urban-cool dining spot that will transport guests to vibrant India, featuring colourful hand-painted walls, Indian vendor carts and artistic “tangled wire” light installations typically found on the streets of Mumbai. Mid-century style bar stools and vintage mismatched chairs add a laid back vibe to kick back and relax.

Let’s Eat

The delectable all-day menu runs from breakfast, through to lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktail hour. Early risers and lazy brunchers can revel in Cinnamon Soho’s signature breakfast parathas – delicious, warm, homemade flatbreads, filled with Bollyflower Cheese (cauliflower and Keen’s Cheddar), Meetha (coconut and jaggery brown cane sugar) and Keema (smoky spiced minced lamb), to name a few.  Traditional Kedgeree and spicy masala omelettes will also brighten up any morning.

For lunch and dinner, there’s plenty of savoury sharing plates and sweet treats to choose from. Small dishes of potato bonda (mash in chickpea butter) and Bangla-Scotch eggs with Calcutta spiced beetroot kick off proceedings in style. Swap and share across the table with sharing dishes such as double cooked pork belly ‘Koorg’ style, Vindaloo of ox cheek with masala mash, and Paneer 65 (stir-fried paneer with curry leaf and green chilli). During the afternoon, guests can choose from a set lunch menu, available daily from 12-4pm. Ideal for pre and post-theatre dining, guests can indulge in set dinner menus, including a spiced Cinnamon Soho cocktail.

If you’re after something truly special, look no further than High Chai – a twisted take on the classic afternoon tea. Sip on a selection of the finest Jing teas or choose an Indian Masala Chai, brewed in-house with ginger or cardamom. Prepare to be blown away with three tiers of tantalising Indian delights including savoury Bhangra lamb sliders, comforting Hyderabadi caramelised onions and mint samosas and vegetarian favourites such as paneer naan pizza and the Bengal beetroot burger. Top off the High Chai Tea on a sweet note with sugary delicacies including Malabar plum cake or Shrikhand tartlet with tamarind strawberries.

Spiced Sips

Spices continue to take centre stage with a new signature collection of cocktails. From the beautiful new bar, the team of talented mixologists have crafted an array of standout sips made with sweet and smoky spices including a Cinnamon Bellini (cinnamon tea, Goldschläger Prosecco), Spiced Plum Saketini (Bombay Sapphire, plum wine, sake, ginger) and Chilli Black Mango (whisky, fireball, mango, spiced vanilla sugar, black pepper). Get the party started with spiced shots of Rock Star Baby (Finlandia vodka, sour passion fruit, Chambord liqueur, Prosecco) and Chasing The Star Baby (tequila, Midori liqueur, lime juice and absinthe).

The Indian favourite ‘lassi’ is served sweet, salted and infused with mango to tantalise your taste buds. Guests can also kick off their day with a zesty Bloody Mary served hot and spicy or choose from a range of cold press juices and raw coconut water. A fragrant basil lemonade with a subtle hint of elderflower is ideal for those avoiding the sauce.

Let’s Party!

Planning a Christmas party or private celebration? Make it sparkle in the stunning downstairs dining room that can be hired for up to 35 guests seated at the stylish banquet-style table or up to 50 standing with cocktails and canapés for a more casual affair.

Chic, contemporary and central – Cinnamon Soho is your go-to spot for relaxed dining in the heart of the capital.
