The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, the private members club in the Scottish Highlands, has announced the appointment of Philippe Requin as its new Managing Director. The retiring Managing Director, Peter Crome, will be taking up the position of Chairman continuing his association with the world famous property.
Philippe Requin is highly respected in the industry having started his career with the Roux brothers, followed by senior positions at some of the world’s leading hotels including, The Langham Hotel, London, Mandarin Hotel, Hong Kong and the Six Senses resorts to name a few. His position prior to joining Skibo Castle was CEO of Grace Hotels, which he, over a seven year period, developed into an international luxury boutique hotel collection.
Requin said, “After 34 years travelling around the world, I thought I had done it all and seen it all. The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle is, I believe, going to be the pinnacle of my career. What a place with such an amazing history. Words can’t express how excited I am to be part of such a property and I am very much looking forward to meeting the members and continuing the exceptional home-from-home experience.”
Peter Crome, after 14 years of running the Club will continue to be part of Skibo’s future, remaining as Chairman to work with Philippe for the next 12 months to settle him into the business.
Crome said, “We are delighted to welcome such an established figure of the hospitality world who understands the subtlety of running a unique members club. I very much look forward to working with him in the future to continue the success of the Club”.
Philippe Requin will take up the position from 1st November 2016.
