An accidental idea brought to life in a local pub by four mates discussing their favourite food and movies – The Pop Up Picture House in the charming Buckinghamshire town of Marlow is set to be a mouth-watering movie experience like no other!
For one month only, Tom Kerridge and friends are inviting moviegoers to experience Marlow’s first pop-up cinema. Prepare to be treated to delicious, wholesome comfort food whilst watching Tom and co.’s favourite films in a comfy, home-like environment. The Pop Up Picture House will be located in the beautiful old Town Hall in the heart of Marlow. Screening a variety of films including cult hits, Christmas classics and family favourites, The Pop Up Picture House is bound to be a box office smash!
Appealing to film buffs and foodies alike, the one month pop-up will launch on the 1st of December, with tickets going on sale from the 8th of November. Each ticket will include a two-course meal plus interval ice-cream served by usherettes… And of course, the film itself! Guests will be treated to some Great British comfort food that will be in keeping with the theme of the film. Think traditionally made lasagne served in front of The Italian Job from the comfort of your sofa!
With help from Marlow locals; Mark James of Unicorn Productions, Chris Hughes of Brand Events and Ben Phillips of Steamer Trading, The Pop Up Picture House is on a mission to bring back the community spirit that movie houses used to give to the local area. There will be Saturday morning screenings and matinee movies for kids with the kind of food and snacks they love to make it an extra-special experience. For older viewers there will also be a well thought out bar, with a selection of real ales and lagers available, both on draught and by the bottle. Individual and artisan house spirits will be well sourced, as well as a wide selection of wine.
So if you’re looking for a brilliant day or evening out with friends and family in the run up to Christmas with delicious food, drink and epic films, The Pop Up Picture House is the place to be.
