The new Chelmsford restaurant followed in the footsteps of the original Bourgee in Southend-On-Sea, with the ‘affordable luxury’ recipe the brand is known and loved for being replicated within the buzzing city.

The focus on luxury dining at affordable prices has clearly hit a nerve across the county of Essex with both up every Friday and Saturday night until Christmas!

The success bodes well for Bourgee Founders James Welling and Mark Baumann who have an ambitious expansion plan in mind for the brand. For the restaurant entrepreneurs, Chelmsford is just the beginning. Further sites have been secured in Bury St Edmunds and Norwich which will see the affordable luxury brand expand into the wider East Anglia vicinity across 2017.

James Welling, Director of Bourgee comments; “The start in Chelmsford has been phenomenal – with thousands of bookings taken. Performance in terms of revenue has also been staggering and we have already hit the heights of Southend.

Whilst we have barely scratched the surface in terms of promoting our full offering, we are delighted with the start we have made and look forward to driving performance further in the coming weeks as we ready ourselves for our Bury and Norwich sites to open.”
