Colwick Hall work for Macmillan

By James Russell: Colwick Hall work for Macmillan

October 20, 2016

On Monday 26th September Colwick Hall Hotel launched its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to help make a difference to the lives of everyone affected by cancer in Nottingham. A donation from afternoon tea sales soon mounted up over the week and raised a fantastic £457.30.

Naomi Tupoulahi, Sales Executive at Colwick Hall said:

“We are absolutely delighted to partner with Macmillan Cancer Support. Everybody knows somebody affected by cancer and the work that Macmillan does on a local basis is so very close to our customer’s hearts. People’s generosity during our Macmillan Afternoon Tea Week was amazing.”

And the fundraising doesn’t stop there. Colwick Hall Hotel have plenty of other fundraising initiatives planned over the Christmas period and into 2017, culminating in a Masquerade Ball on 29th September 2017, so watch this space!

Every day 17 people in the county hear the devastating news that they have cancer, and eight people die from the illness. This will see Nottinghamshire’s population of people living with cancer nearly double between 2010 and 2030.

Tanya Taylor Senior Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said:

“Macmillan Cancer Support aim to improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer. We provide practical, medical and financial support to people when they need it most. But with nearly one in two of us now receiving a cancer diagnosis at some point in our lives, the need to raise even more funds has never been greater.  We simply couldn’t do it without Charity Partners such as Colwick Hall I want to say thank you Naomi, Selva Muthalagappan, all the staff that have so enthusiastically engaged with Macmillan and to all of their customers making a difference”.
