Wedgwood the Restaurant, one of Edinburgh’s leading fine dining destinations has been voted Restaurant of the Year, in the outside London category, at the fifth annual Food and Travel Reader Awards.
The awards, which are organised by Food and Travel magazine, took place on Monday night at a glittering ceremony at The Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London. Voted for by readers, the awards honour the best of the best in the world of food, drink and travel.
Chef patron Paul Wedgwood, who was at the ceremony to collect the award with Lisa, commented on the achievement:
“We are over the moon to win this award. To be the only Scottish contender in a category which included some of the best restaurants in the UK was an honour in itself, but to win it is truly the icing on the cake. We are utterly delighted and want to thank not only everyone that voted for us, but the people who make Wedgwood what it is, from our team of talented chefs and front of house staff who work so incredibly hard seven days a week to all of our suppliers who make sure we are able to serve the very best Scottish produce. A massive thank to you all!”
It has been a strong year for the restaurant which was also named one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants in the UK as well as picking up the Scottish Licensed Trade News’ Wine Award. The restaurant also underwent a stunning refurbishment earlier in the year and continues to be one of Edinburgh’s favourite restaurants.
