MasterChef semi-finalist, Elizabeth Cottam, is taking up a three-month residency at the New Ellington in Wellington Place, Leeds from the 1st October 2016.
Elizabeth Cottam says: “My residency at The New Ellington will allow me to serve the kind of food I want to make and present it in a top notch restaurant environment, which is really exciting. Autumn is also my choice of season as it allows me to create all my favourite rich and comforting recipes. Food for me is a fantastic excuse for socialising and there is no better place to do this than in a hotel setting.”
Victoria Fletcher, Hotel Manager of the New Ellington says: “We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to our hotel and it really is an honour to host her. Viewers of BBC’s MasterChef will remember Elizabeth receiving high praise from the judges throughout the series. Leeds diners will be keen to try her cuisine out for themselves.”
The menu, which focuses on classic British recipes using traditional autumnal flavours, will change monthly. Liz’s dishes will include; local Yorkshire confit duck with plums, golden beets & soya, a vegetarian Aubergine & tomato tart, whipped Tamworth cheese, rocket pesto and delicious Toffee, apples, vanilla cheese cake for dessert amongst other mouth-watering recipes.
Part of the Splendid Hospitality Group portfolio, the New Ellington is a 38-bedroom boutique hotel. Named after Duke Ellington who played at the Leeds music festival back in 1958, the hotel is also home to the popular Gin Garden stocking over 100 gins including Yorkshire favourites: Slingsby Mason’s Whittaker’s, each served with their own garnish.
