Dalloway Film Club to Launch at London Hotspot, Dalloway Terrace

By James Russell: Dalloway Film Club to Launch at London Hotspot, Dalloway Terrace

September 19, 2016

This month London’s favorite al fresco dining spot, Dalloway Terrace, is prolonging summer nights in the capital, becoming the first restaurant in the city to launch their very own Film Club. In conjunction with The Nomad Cinema, a permanent 30-foot cinema screen has been installed and guests are invited to enjoy an array of classic movies with wireless headphones, whilst relaxing on the picturesque terrace under the stars. A selection of dishes can be ordered from the new Dalloway Film Club Menu, paired with bespoke cocktails inspired by the series of classic films being showed.

The Dalloway Film Club will launch at 8pm on Thursday 22nd September with an exclusive screening of Baz Luhrmann’s award-winningly opulent The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. Guests will revel in F Scott Fitzgerald’s decadent tale of 1920’s excess in the luxurious setting of Dalloway Terrace. Tickets include wireless headphones, a bag of Willy Chase’s ‘Fit Corn’ and a welcome cocktail inspired by the movie. The terrace will be well equipped for the impending autumnal weather with heaters and cosy blankets, promising ultimate comfort whatever the weather.

The wholegrain air-popped corn will be available in grown-up, guilt-free flavours, including: Salted Honey, Nearly Naked; and Chase Smoky Bloody Mary. During the screening, guests will have the opportunity to dine from the Film Club Menu favourites, including; Crispy salt & pepper squid with chilli and lime, Truffle fries and Wiltshire ham hock monsieur with grape chutney.

Throughout the evening guests will get the chance to enter a competition to win two complimentary drinks in The Bloomsbury Club Bar following the movie. Guests will be able to enter simply by taking a selfie with their cinema ticket and posting it on their Instagram account, tagging @DallowayTerrace and using the hashtag #DallowayFilmClub. Each night, a winner will be chosen by the Dalloway team.

8pm – Sunday 25th September – Tom Cruise’s 1988 box-office smash hit Cocktail following a talented New York City bartender who takes a job at a bar in Jamaica and falls in love, but not everything is happily ever after.

8pm – Sunday 2nd October – Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche star in 2000’s Chocolat, the tale of the mysterious Vianne, her spirited daughter and the effect they have on a small town in 1950’s France.

8pm – Thursday 6th October – Wes Anderson’s quirky The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)  is an all-star whodunit-style romp across Europe starring Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan and Willem Defoe.

Future screenings will include Bugsy Malone, Some Like It Hot, Inception and Top Gun. 30 tickets will be available each night and large bookings can be accommodated subject to availability. The restaurant will also be available for private screening events.

Dalloway Terrace, nestled in the heart of Bloomsbury is named after the eponymous character created by Virginia Woolf, an author whose name will forever be associated with the area. Since opening in March 2016, the restaurant has firmly positioned itself as a top dining destination on the London restaurant scene. Dalloway Film Club will give guest another excuse to visit the critically acclaimed restaurant and will offer the ideal date destination or evening out with a group of friends.
