Chris Elmore MP cuts the ribbon to officially open Welcome Break’s Sarn Park service station on the M4 (junction 36) with its Chief Executive Officer Rod McKie and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Cherie Jones.

Sarn Park motorway services will be officially opened on Friday August 5 (at 12 noon) by Chris Elmore Labour MP for Ogmore, Council Deputy Mayor Councillor Cherie Jones and Welcome Break Chief Executive Officer Rod McKie.

The service area on the M4 (junction 36) has undergone a £6.5 million development project over the past nine months. Thirty new jobs have been created.

It will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and managed by General Manager Rob Thomas, who will head a team of 50 staff in total.

The new look service area will feature a new Starbucks Café, Starbucks Drive-Thru plus a refurbished Burger King and WH Smith.

When visiting Sarn Park customers can either take a well-earned rest from the road in comfortable surroundings, whilst enjoying a large, multi-screen video wall, soft seating and booth seating.  Along with free Wi-Fi and charging sockets to keep all phones, tablets and laptops fully topped up.

Or they can grab a quick coffee and pastry from the state of the art Starbucks Drive-Thru which is open 24 hours a day.

Other features include new wash rooms and new shower facilities, plus a unisex baby changing area, as well as a specially-adapted Changing Places space for adults with disabilities and those who are unable to use standard accessible toilets.

Welcome Break have also provided chargers for TESLA electric cars.

The service area will also offer customers Collect+, a Click & Collect service, located at the WH Smith outlet.  Welcome Break and Collect+ will bring more than 300 retail brands, including John Lewis, M&S, Top Shop, House of Fraser and Amazon, to your doorstep via the Click & Collect facility.

Additionally, there is a Deli-2-Go in the forecourt, offering a wide range of hot and cold food and drink, 24/7.
