From Wednesday 14th September, Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea will be teaming up with Anglo American street food specialist Sub Cult, to create the ultimate hot gourmet sub menu, available for both lunch and dinner until Friday, 16th September.
Using the freshest ingredients and unique flavour combinations, the partnership will bring much-loved subs to Chelsea, including the Rodeo Sub with aged sirloin cooked rare and served with truffle mayo, confit shallot jam, provolone picante and pickled serrano chilli; the Sub Claws with poached Brixham lobster, saffron aioli, pickled fennel, radish, and lemon and chive (MP); and the vegetarian Sub Terranean with woodland mushroom, stilton, roasted garlic, thyme and black truffle. Furthermore, the team have worked with Chef and Tom’s Kitchen founder, Tom Aikens, to create a special flavour, exclusive to this pop-up called the Tom’s Schnitzel Sub featuring chicken schnitzel, red pepper relish, aioli and rocket.
As finalists, cum two time award winners (including Best Sandwich category) in last year’s British Street Food Awards; Sub Cult have raised the bar in what we Brits should come to expect from the humble sandwich, so it’s no surprise that Time Out have included them in their London’s Top Ten Best Street Food Traders feature. Sub Cult founders, Ben and Gaz, are rightly credited with “putting the soul in your roll”, regularly popping up at London’s foodie markets including Berwick Street, Brockley and Maltby Street. Now heading for Chelsea, this limited edition sub menu will offer street food lovers a unique opportunity to try Sub Cult’s delicious sandwiches, in South West London at the relaxed and informal setting of Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea.
