The soft launch period from 23rd August right up until the 19th September for the new restaurant from Flemings Mayfair and celebrated Michelin star chef Shaun Rankin was fully booked for dinner within 48 hours of the reservation lines opening.
The demand from diners wanting to experience the hotly anticipated restaurant, Ormer Mayfair, resulted in more than 1,000 bookings being made for the soft launch period offering 50% off food.
General Manager of Flemings Mayfair, Henrik Muehle commented: “It was wonderful to see such a strong response. As soon as it was announced the bookings came flying in. We’re delighted that diners are sharing our excitement about the upcoming launch of Ormer Mayfair and Shaun Rankin and the team can’t wait to get started.”
Ormer Mayfair will be a celebration of British heritage, drawing together the freshness of foraged herbs, excellent English wines and seasonal produce from land and sea. Dishes will include: hand-dived scallops from the Channel Islands; Jersey lobster ravioli in a crab and lemongrass bisque; seasonal venison loin with Medjool dates, quinoa, parsnips and chocolate tortellini and double chocolate brownie with salt caramel and milk ice cream.
Shaun Rankin will continue to run his Michelin-starred restaurant Ormer in Jersey as well as Ormer Mayfair. Ormer Mayfair is part of a £15 million refurbishment of the 165-year-old boutique hotel. Flemings Mayfair is a member of Small Luxury Hotels Limited.
