Learn to Bake Beside Thailand’s Best Beach
In advance of the highly anticipated new series of The British Bake Off, The Nai Harn has launched Beachside Bake Off classes. Led by executive Pastry Chef and Master Baker, Daniel Back, guests are able to learn from the best; expanding on their baking skills including even their youngest of guests with a special class just for junior bakers.
Beside the seafront of The Nai Harn Beach, recently named Thailand’s best beach by TripAdvisor, classes include the chocolate and praline cake class, ideal for those with a sweet tooth. The class enables bakers to get their hands gooey in the name of chocolate pralines, traditional fruitcake and indulgent chocolate cake. The delicious class ends with an interactive session with the chef to talk and taste, plus some sweet treats to take away as a keepsake.
Other classes include learning the art of bread-making plus a cookie and cupcake tutorial, tailored especially for kids. This includes making and baking, piping and decorating; with graduating mini-chefs receiving a mini torque (chef’s hat) and aprons as take-home souvenirs.
“Baking is something intrinsically linked with happy memories of shared celebrations and fond family moments. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to share with our guests my passion, which appeals to varied age groups, genders, and cultures,” says Chef Daniel.
Baking classes at The Nai Harn are conducted in the open kitchen of the seafront Cosmo restaurant: Each class is 1 – 1.5 hours duration. The cooking classes are limited to a maximum of four participants to ensure personal attention from the Master Baker.
Newly opened in Phuket in January of this year and the only member of the Leading Hotels of The World in Phuket, The Nai Harn is poised to become the island’s last word on luxurious beachfront living. Offering 130 luxurious guest rooms and suites with panoramic views over the soft white sands and graded azure and turquoise hues of the Andaman Sea, a bespoke luxury spa and a stunning new pool and food and beverage spaces, The Nai Harn is also the only hotel directly on the ocean at the Nai Harn beach.
All oversized guestrooms, many with their very own mini putting greens, overlook the Andaman Sea, dotted with islands and sailboats, and are designed to open up the whole room, including the bathroom space, to the view outside, with a decadent four-poster daybed on the terrace acting as a perfect scenic vantage point.
