Las Iguanas throw open the doors of their latest restaurant on 22nd August, bringing a fiesta of lovely Latino flavours to Braintree.
Las Iguanas takes up residence in a brand new extension to the Freeport Designer Village dining zone, nestled between the cinema and the prime shopping district. The vibrant restaurant décor takes its inspiration from the team’s most recent travels in South America. Both the decoration and the food showcases the tropical flavours and colours of Rio; guests can enjoy comfy booths and leather banquette seating against a backdrop of sunshine shades of yellow, sky blue and turquoise, whilst they admire the big bold graphics dancing across the walls inspired by graffiti in Buenos Aires.
The décor sets the scene for customers to enjoy an exotic menu, including a variety of South American and Mexican classics; sizzling fajitas, coconut curries, meaty steaks, and fresh, flavoursome salads. For the dessert-lover in all of us, the dishes on offer are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth, from Dulce de Leche Cheesecake to cinnamon dusted Churros. Or, for a lighter end to your meal try the new Mojito Jelly with lemon & lime sorbet!
Shaun the Sheep makes an appearance this summer in the limited edition activity book menus for kids – collect all three books and follow Shaun’s ‘Championsheeps’ fun and games. There are also separate gluten free, veggie and vegan menus, making Las Iguanas a perfect pit stop when the shopping takes its toll.
And that’s not all; Las Iguanas are 25 this year and the birthday celebrations continue with ‘two-for-one’ on 25 cocktails all year round, to get you in that party spirit. And because Las Iguanas love a celebration, and with all eyes are on Rio this month, guests can sample the tastes of Brazil with a Caipirinha or two, made from Las Iguana’s very own Magnifica Cachaça made in sugar cane fields just outside of Rio. Guests are sure to be spoilt for choice with brand new cocktail choices including ‘Hombre Bombre’ mixing Chivas Regal, Las Iguanas Magnifica cachaça, pineapple juice & ginger syrup, and ‘Pisco Power’ that combines ABA Pisco, Funkin guava purée, agave, apple & lime juices. There is also a brand new menu of 7 different Caipirinha flavours, including Pear Drop; Orange and Ginger and Red Berry. If you really want to get the party started, why not bring plenty of friends and try the sharing cocktails served up in big glass skulls and kitsch pineapples!
And talking of Rio, Las Iguanas have launched a limited edition, authentic Brazilian menu for the summer inspired by Cariocas, the inhabitants of Rio. This special menu has been carefully chosen to allow customers to experience the very best of all things Brazil. Customers can enjoy a variety of handpicked starters, mains and desserts, including Mini Picanha Churasco, Coconut Chicken, Xinxim, chocolatey Brigadeiro inspired by our friends at Zazá Bistrô in Rio and delicious coconutty Tembleque.
With so many things to cheer about, head down to Las Iguanas Braintree, where you’re sure to find a reason to celebrate.
