A newly opened five-star luxury hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow is celebrating after achieving a five-star accommodation rating from the AA.
Crossbasket Castle, operated by luxury hotel management group Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI), adds the latest accolade to the company’s growing portfolio of five-star rated establishments across Scotland four months after its opening.
Based in High Blantyre, the castle has been recognised for its luxury accommodation, range of facilities, experienced staff and high quality food and drink offering from a fine-dining restaurant overseen by renowned chefs Albert and Michel Roux Jr.
The AA has been recommending and acknowledging hotels for over a century through their inspection and star-rating scheme. On achieving the top rating, Ryan Davidson, general manager at Crossbasket Castle said:
“We are really happy to have achieved our five-star accommodation rating from the AA. The awards represent the passion and dedication that has gone into creating a high quality luxury experience at the hotel.
“Since opening in May we’ve received great feedback from guests and look forward to sharing more of the spectacular castle with our visitors.”
Saving the castle from the Buildings at Risk Register in 2011, a local businessman and his wife, Steve Timoney and Alison Reid-Timoney, have invested over £9 million to restore the building to its former glory.
The hotel features nine rooms, including a four-storey bridal tower and a new grand ballroom seating up to 250 people and is available for a variety of functions, weddings and events.
