World’s First Emoji Only Menu

By James Russell: World’s First Emoji Only Menu

July 18, 2016

Love them or hate them, you’re bound to have used them at least once before. Liverpool brought you Emoji room service and now the flatmates at The Little Yellow Door bring you the Emoji Only Menu, yes quite literally emoji only. Think bright red emojified tomatoes and cute little mushroom stumps for truffles. Add in a little creative thought for emojis such as the rocket ship, and you’ve got it, get it?

The Little Yellow Door has translated their delicious menu into the popular graphics and will run the summer special menu, offering two courses and a cocktail for £15, every Wednesday and Thursday throughout July and August. Guests can expect to find a Seared Steak Roll with Truffle Mayo, Caramelized Onions and Rocket. Buffalo Wings with Crudities & Blue Cheese Dip and The Little Yellow Door’s House Punch, ok we might have had to get a little imaginative with the relevant emojis. Guests will be able to order their food and drinks via WhatsApp by a message requesting their order, obviously in emoji only format, failing that, guests can ask a friendly waiter.

Alongside the launch of the Emoji Only Menu TLYD’s American flat mate, hotshot Hank has thankfully had his visa extended. Deciding to embrace his newfound love for British cuisine, specifically British Barbeques Hank is introducing a weekly special supperclub, British Summer BBQ Vs American BBQ Friday’s. Dishes will include USA Bourbon Glazed Ribs and Pulled Beef Shin, British Smoked Cumberlands and BBQ Chicken with Oreagano & Rosemary and to finish an Oreo, banana and bourbon Hard shake.

Every Thursday, after you have eaten your way through all emojis on offer, TLYD brings you Boogie Jukebox. Those visiting the flatmates will find playlists on their tables, from which they are able to select their favourite tunes. Guests can choose from a selection of motown, soul, funk or disco tunes, bringing back those summers of love. Simply whip out those handy mobile phones and WhatApp your request to the DJ.
