Wadworth pub The Daneway Inn reopens following £300,000 investment

By James Russell: Wadworth pub The Daneway Inn reopens following £300,000 investment

July 18, 2016

Wadworth, the regional pub operator and family brewer, has invested £300,000 into The Daneway Inn, Sapperton and the doors are now open to the public following the huge refurbishment.

The pub, which is named after a star racehorse of one of its past owners, has been completely revamped in the ambitious refurbishment. This has included two extensions on either side of the pub, with a brand new kitchen, customer toilets, and an additional new shower and toilet block for campers to use. The new kitchen will enable the chefs to bring a better level of food to the pub supported by a delicious new food menu, bringing it in line with the other ‘Great Pub, Great Food’ pubs that belong to the Wadworth estate.

The Daneway Inn was constructed in the 18th century, originally as three cottages and the revamped site will retain its traditional historical features yet with an added emphasis on comfort. It boasts warm, welcoming shades and soft furnishings including stylish high backed chairs for relaxing by the open fireplace. The site is surrounded by three nature reserves, and it will continue to welcome walkers and campers through its doors. Additionally, The Daneway Inn will be welcoming new tenants, Pete & Emma Bradshaw. Emma previously worked as head of communications at the Gloucester Wildlife Trust.

Lloyd Stephens, Operations Director at Wadworth, said: “We are so pleased that The Daneway Inn is opening its doors to the public and we can now show everyone the hard work that has gone into it.

“The character of The Daneway Inn has been retained, and we haven’t extended to add covers, rather to add facilities for those who visit. We are sure that Emma and her team will continue to please customers, old and new; and we are really looking forward to their reaction to the new look and revamped menu.”
