MOD Pizza announced securing three additional UK locations in Newcastle, Nottingham and a flagship location in Leicester Square London. The newest locations are all slated to open before the end of the year. This latest announcement follows MOD’s successful UK debut in Leeds this past June. The second UK location is slated to open August 11 in Brighton Marina. Founded in the US by entrepreneurs Scott and Ally Svenson, MOD is expanding throughout the UK through a joint-venture with Sir Charles Dunstone and Roger Taylor.
The newly announced MOD UK locations are scheduled to open as follows:
- Leicester Square 17-18 Irving, St London, WC2H 7AU; Opening early November
- Newcastle Metro Centre, Gateshead, Unit B6, The Qube; Opening early November
- Nottingham 31-32 Longrow, Nottingham, NG1 2DR; Opening early December
“We feel so lucky and excited to introduce more people and communities throughout the UK to the MOD brand, and we hope that as people discover and come to love our pizza, they will also come to understand our mission to make a positive impact on as many people as possible. More than anything, it is our hope to become a positive part of each of these communities – providing great jobs, career growth opportunities and making a positive difference in the community,” said Scott Svenson, MOD co-founder.
Added Sir Charles Dunstone, “Along with the great sites in Newcastle and Nottingham, we are extremely excited to bring MOD to London’s West End. Opening in central London is an amazing opportunity for us to bring the MOD brand to life in a big way – showcasing our people-first culture and meaningful community engagement. Each of these strategic openings are building the momentum for our exciting growth plans for 2017 and beyond.”
Simple and efficient, the MOD concept enables customers to build their own individual, artisan-style pizza or hand-tossed salad, using MOD’s fresh-pressed dough, signature sauces and a choice of 34 toppings. Pizzas are cooked ‘superfast’ in MOD’s stoned baked ovens for under 4 minutes, and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. Regardless of pizza toppings, or salad ingredients, the price always remains the same.
Each new MOD store is expected to hire approximately 25 employees –or MOD Squad members – and will partner with a local charity for opening day, donating 100% of proceeds from all pizza sales, and a commitment to provide ongoing support to community based charities throughout the year.
