Post Brexit a leading restaurant entrepreneur is adapting his business to the altered consumer climate as a basis for his ambitious expansion plans.
Martin Williams, founder of M Restaurants, the multi award winning and ground breaking drinking and dining venues in Threadneedle Street and Victoria Street, has postponed plans to open a third venue of similar size and scale in Soho and to instead take advantage of the opportunities presented by more local markets.
Offering an exciting new micro-version of the M concept, in terms of both décor and price point, M Social will draw on the huge appetite that Williams has witnessed for GRILL restaurants and the RAW food market, and fine tune it for a different audience.
Williams plans to open between two and four M Social venues during the course of 2017. Potential sites, each offering around 100 covers, are currently being explored in Notting Hill, Angel, Clapham, Richmond and Twickenham.
These openings will then be followed by the launch of a third large M venue in an iconic building in Canary Wharf.
Commented Martin Williams, “M Social will take the core elements of M – incredible steaks, healthy raw cuisine, innovative cocktails, Enomatic wine systems and exemplary service – that have made our two venues so successful, and apply them to more intimate outer London locations. Here they will offer a genuine ‘Home from Home’ for residents and local workers alike.
“Prior to the referendum I was already of the view that weekend dining outside the centre of London was a market I was keen to capitalise on. I am now convinced that in the current environment, M Social is the perfect vehicle to grow the M brand.”
