SAFC Supporters Can Benefit from Hotel’s First Full Season

By James Russell: SAFC Supporters Can Benefit from Hotel’s First Full Season

June 15, 2016

Members of Sunderland’s red and white army can now make more of their match day experience – even if they are travelling from outside the North East.

The Hilton Garden Inn, Sunderland hotel, which opened just yards from the Stadium of Light earlier this year, is counting down to the start of its first full season with a range of exclusive offers for Black Cat supporters.

This includes reduced bed and breakfast rates for all SAFC seasonal members looking to avoid a late night journey home, as well as discounts of up to 15 per cent off accommodation for season card holders booking match-to-match packages.

The hotel’s Karbon Bar will be open for pre and post-match drinks, with hospitality packages also running in its adjoining Karbon Grill restaurant.

This includes a pre-match Q&A with former SAFC players, a three-course Pan-American gourmet grill buffet, half time refreshments, complimentary car parking and prime, centre line seats for the game itself.

Packages are now being sold, subject to availability, for all SAFC home games in the 2016/2017 season, kicking off against regional rivals Middlesbrough on Saturday August 20.

“This is going to be a very big season for Sunderland, with clashes against Middlesbrough, Everton, Crystal Palace and Arsenal all coming up within the first few weeks” said Kim Kelso, General Manager for the Hilton Garden Inn.

“We’ve already had enquiries from supporters from around the globe wanting to take advantage of the hotel’s high standards of service and close proximity to the Stadium of Light during these games and we would advise fans to book as early as possible to avoid missing out.”

The Hilton Garden Inn, Sunderland, which is the first of its brand to launch in Northern England, boasts 141 bedrooms and suites, each with an in-room mini fridge, controlled air conditioning, flat screen TV and complimentary WiFi.

Despite only being open for a matter of weeks at the end of the 2015/2016 football season, many of the hotel’s rooms and hospitality packages sold out immediately on release, with demand for this year expected to be equally high.

SAFC supporters will, however, also be able to enjoy non-matchday hospitality at the venue, with 10 per cent off the cost of food at the Karbon Grill Kitchen and Bar for up to four people when a valid 2016/2017 season card is shown.
