The newly formed Restaurant Services team is to be headed up by former Tesco and M&S retail specialist Robin Clark as its Director of Restaurant Services.
The team has been tasked with identifying savings opportunities for its restaurant partners and is part of the fast growing food ordering platform’s ongoing commitment to support its restaurant portfolio with market-leading value add products and services.
The move follows a pledge by JUST EAT to invest over £40m into the UK takeaway sector this year to drive increased customer growth and to develop a more sophisticated technology platform for its restaurants and consumers alike.
The first agreement that the team has secured is a nationwide partnership with the UK’s leading food and drink wholesaler, Booker and Makro, to deliver real savings for its growing network of 27,000 restaurants.
Restaurants signed up to JUST EAT will now exclusively get cashback vouchers on all purchases placed with Booker and Makro online, or at one of their 200 branches nationwide. This is the first deal of its kind in the online and digital food-ordering and delivery sector for multiple cuisines.
JUST UK Managing Director Graham Corfield said: “I am thrilled to have Robin join JUST EAT at an exciting time for the business. Restaurant services is an integral part of our business and Robin’s experience and knowledge will be instrumental as JUST EAT continues to grow.”
Robin Clark, Director of Restaurant Services at JUST EAT said: “JUST EAT continues to offer great opportunities for UK restaurants, and as part of my role I am eager to ensure partners receive the best service from JUST EAT to make a positive impact on their business.”
A senior appointment, Clark will report to the UK Managing Director, Graham Corfield, and joins after thirteen years in the industry having held senior roles at Tesco, where he was Head of Transformation, Strategy, Customer Insight and Trade, and Marks and Spencer, where he was a Category Manager and Merchandiser.
