iNTERTAIN has celebrated the opening of Chicago Rib Shack at its famous Camden Lock venue, having entered into a licence agreement with the authentic American barbeque chain earlier this month.
The move has also coincided with iNTERTAIN carrying out a £300,000 refurbishment to the site, which uses its original name, the “T.E. Dingwall Building”.
John Leslie, CEO of iNTERTAIN said: “The venue is looking fantastic. We’re very much looking forward to building on its incredible reputation for live music, whilst creating our own history by serving up authentic American barbeque, craft brews, jazz and blues.”
Christian Arden, Managing Director, Chicago Rib Shack said: “I am really excited to be working with the team at iNTERTAIN, bringing The Rib Shack to this historic venue in Camden.”
More information
The project will see the venue build on its historic roots as a legendary live music venue for big name and emerging talent, as well as continuing to host the London arm of the company’s new comedy offering, The Comedy Loft.
Guests to the Chicago Rib Shack – the original barbeque restaurant, which brought the craze for ribs and all things smoked to London 30 years ago – will be able to experience the fruits of a secret recipe, unchanged since industry legend, Bob Payton, first developed it.
The menu features responsibly sourced baby back ribs (the ‘crème de la crème’ of barbeque ribs) smoked in-house over applewood chips in specially imported barbeque ovens, as well as top-quality burgers and Cajun chicken.
In true Illinois style, and in keeping with the venue’s own heritage, live jazz and blues will have a big influence on the Chicago Rib Shack atmosphere, and there will also be a range of American craft beers and cocktails.
Guests to the venue’s terrace bar will also be able to sample bar snacks from the Chicago Rib Shack menu.
