Howard Ball, one of the food procurement industry’s best-connected individuals is adding his considerable experience to head the e-foods purchasing team as Purchasing Director.
Howard, who in his spare time can be found sea kayaking off the coast of Anglesey, has worked on both purchasing and operations across all the key sectors – Hotels, Education, Healthcare, Contract Catering and Business and Industry. With such an informed appreciation of the operational aspects of each sector, Howard brings a genuine understanding of what represents value for money to the purchasing and procurement process.
“Strong relationships between supplier and customer is the key to securing the best deals and, whilst I bring plenty of clout to the negotiating table, the right deal needs to be well balanced to give solid value to our customers and a workable return for our suppliers” said Howard, he added, “e-foods core business is in food, but our clients can expect to see opportunities to secure savings across a wider range of purchasing categories – waste management, energy, utilities and alcoholic beverages are just a few of the areas I’ll be bringing on-board in the coming months – watch this space!”
