Devon’s Cary Arms achieves first AA Rosette

By James Russell: Devon’s Cary Arms achieves first AA Rosette

June 7, 2016

The de Savary owned Cary Arms in Devon’s Babbacombe Bay has been awarded its first AA Rosette award as well as a Silver Accolade for Excellence. The double award win is a sign of the very high quality of the five star inn’s cuisine and its general outstanding levels of excellence. Cary Arms impressively retained its five star rating with a score of 88%, underlining the consistent high level of service and hospitality over the past year.

The AA Rosette has been awarded for the remarkable cuisine offered at the hotel, focused on local produce and seasonality. Guests can expect superb Devon beef, Lyme Bay lobster and line caught seafood with cosy indoor seating in the winter months and outdoor seating possible in the summer months with stunning sea views.

The Silver Accolade was awarded for outstanding levels of service across the board including food and beverage service, hospitality, efficiency with check-in and check-out procedures, décor, building and grounds maintenance and housekeeping standards.

The five star inn has ten sea facing suites and three beautiful cottages ranging from three to five bedrooms. The boutique inn is currently undergoing an extensive £1.5 million expansion to unveil six chic Beach Huts, two luxurious Beach Suites and a stunning glass fronted spa, all set to open later this summer. The new developments, which have been designed to incorporate traditional seaside charm with a stylish, contemporary feel, complement the existing suites and cottages.

Lana de Savary comments, ‘The team at Cary Arms works very hard to offer guests the extremely high standard of service and food that is expected of a five star inn. We are delighted that these efforts have paid off and we are now AA Rosette certified.  We hope that we can continue to offer our guests the same high standard of service for years to come.’
