Pint Shop, the award-winning Cambridge beer house specialising in MEAT.BREAD.BEER. has hired Nickie Bartsch as head of people. This is the operator’s first senior hire as it looks to open its second site later in the year.
Nickie joins the business from Leon where she worked for over nine years, starting as assistant manager and working her way through the ranks to general manager and eventually head of people for the fast food restaurant chain. During her time at Leon she played a pivotal role in opening the first franchise at King’s Cross and ran the flagship site in Spitalfields. As head of people for Leon, her focus was ensuring that training and culture was always at the heart of the business.
People, culture and passion is at the core of Pint Shop and Nickie’s role will involve keeping this central to everything the operator does. Additionally, her role will entail helping people progress from an entry level position through the company to senior positions, and ensuring Team members know their time at Pint Shop is a career with huge chances for development.
Nickie Bartsch, head of people at Pint Shop, commented: “I’m looking forward to taking my next career step at Pint Shop. It is a great brand, with wonderful people working in it and my role is going to be a continuation of the positive work that has already been started by Rich and Benny. There are so many opportunities available for a long term career at Pint Shop and we want to make sure new and existing Team members are aware of this and encouraged to progress.”
Rich Holmes, co-owner at Pint Shop, said: “People and culture are the most important things to us at Pint Shop, which is why we wanted to employ a head of people. Benny and I have previously worked with Nickie and she has a proven track record for success, so we are confident that she will be an invaluable member of the Pint Shop team.
“We are going to have over 100 members of staff by the end of the year and we need someone who understands us, our brand, and most importantly, our Team, to help make this expansion an easy one for everyone involved.”
