This May guests at South Kensington’s glamorous K Bar can have their dessert and drink it too with a new Dessert Cocktail Menu, designed by bar manager and cocktail maestro Ben Manchester. The list of five drinks showcases the best in sweet spirits and liqueurs, providing the perfect sweet-treat for cocktail lovers or an alternative to dessert for diners at the adjoining Town House restaurant.
The list includes the indulgent Jerry’s Chocolate Orange, made with Sailor Jerry Spiced rum, Mozart chocolate liqueur, Grand Marnier, orange juice and double cream, and the short-but-sweet Rum Harvard, a punchy mix of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum, Antica Formula vermouth and Crème de Cassis. Those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth can opt for a Crème Brûlée Martini, a sinfully good mix of Vanilla infused Havana Club Especial rum, caramel syrup and double cream, and chocolate lovers will be drawn to the luxurious Chocolate Elit, made with Stolchinaya Elit vodka, Mozart chocolate liqueur, Antica Formula vermouth and chocolate bitters. The Lemon Tart Flip is a citrusy mix of Ketel One Citroen & Stolchinaya Vanilla with a touch of lemon juice, Monin Lemon Pie Syrup & an egg. All the cocktails are £10.
Ben Manchester, who was previously Bar Manager at Hotel du Vin Brighton, brings more than 10 years of experience in the industry to The K Bar, overseeing the recent launch and unveiling a new creative cocktail list, including the exclusive Dessert Cocktails. He said: “I’m really excited to launch the Dessert Cocktails at K Bar. I wanted them to bring an element of fun to the menu, without losing the quality or appeal of the more classic drinks. These cocktails are great drunk either after a meal or on their own, made with premium spirits to the standard of the rest of the menu, appealing to a range of tastes.”
Set in the heart of one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods, The K Bar can be found within The Kensington’s prime location on the corner of two of London’s iconic thoroughfares, Queen’s Gate and the Old Brompton Road. Inspired by the sophisticated atmosphere of a gentlemen’s club, the bar’s features include deep grained oak panelling with integrated bookcases, softened by racing green and royal blue hues, and finished with dimly lit lighting and accents of polished brass detailing.
