May 1, 2016

Tim Bacon who created Living Ventures, Manchester House, JW Johnson’s and the Gusto restaurant chain amongst many other notable eateries in the North West of England has finally lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Friday 29 April at the age of 52.

Tim Bacon picured on far left leading another deal for Living Ventures with the Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson, Lord Carlile CBE QC Chairman Astutus Strategy and John Hyland Director Astutus Strategy.

The current CEO of the North West restaurant and bar group which operates many of the brands, Jeremy Roberts, made this statement on Saturday. “It is with incredible sadness that I have to announce the sad passing of Living Ventures Chairman Tim Bacon who died suddenly but peacefully in his sleep, on Friday night, following a long illness.”

“Tim has had many enduring friendships with people in his private and professional life because of his vibrant, honourable and generous spirit. He gave his all to everything he did, especially to his family and his friends who were incredibly important to him. I will greatly miss him as we all will and I’ve lost a true friend.”

Living Ventures set up in 1999 now has a portfolio of more than 30 restaurants. Well known restaurant brands within the group include Manchester House with chef Aiden Byrne, The Alchemist, Australasia, The Oast House and many more achieving a combined turnover last year exceeding £100m.

Tributes on social media are many and have a common theme, gentleman, friend, happy, honourable, true and faithful. The industry will miss the man.
