Bubbledogs takeover: dynamic vines

By James Russell: Bubbledogs takeover: dynamic vines

May 17, 2016

In celebration of all things grower Champagne, and the new bubbledogs van, Johnny, hitting the roads this summer, bubbledogs are hosting a one off takeover event at Dynamic Vines, Bermondsey on Tuesday 31st May. There will be a live band, wine tastings and of course plenty of hot dogs served from Johnny himself.

The evening will feature tastings hosted by wine experts such as Christophe Richelet (Dynamic Vines), Sandia Chang (Co-founder and Sommelier at Bubbledogs & Kitchen Table), Michael Sager (Founder of Sager & Wilde), Sunaina Sethi (Co-founder and Wine Director at JKS Restaurants) and Raphael Rodriguez (Restaurant Director and Head Sommelier at FERA). The tastings will each focus on different themes such as, Grower Champagnes, Emerging Regions and Bio Dynamic & Natural wines.

Critically acclaimed Swing and Jazz band Kansas Smitty from Broadway Market will provide entertainment for the evening. The band has a mash of styles which move through sounds of swing, blues, R&B, New Orleans roots music and gospel to create their own unique blend. As part of the takeover bubbles will be in good supply with two bars popping up at the venue supplying a selection of the very best grower Champagne and natural wines, and never one to turn down a party, Johnny will be in attendance for his first public outing serving up hot dogs & tots, not forgetting the champagne popsicles!

Johnny is a vintage 1976 Peugeot J7 van, originally created in Condòm, France, hence the name Johnny, and will be wearing his signature mustard yellow party outfit modeled on the classic French’s mustard bottle, making him hard to miss. Serving bubbledogs favourites such as the New Yorker – grilled sauerkraut, caramelized onions & the Sloppy Joe – beef chilli, cheddar cheese & chopped onions. He will be popping up at several festivals across the summer including Chestertons Polo in the Park (3rd-5th June), Love Supreme (1st-3rd July); Lovebox (15th-16th July); Citadel (17th July); Jimmy’s Farm, Sausage & Beer Festival (23rd-24th July); Wilderness Festival (4th-6th August), Jamie Oliver’s Big Feastival (28th-30th August) and London Flower Show (8th-11th September).

Tickets are on sale now at £20; to include a glass of grower Champagne and entry to the tastings available to book between 7-9pm. Each complimentary masterclass holds up to 25 guests per session, it is advisable to pre-book into these sessions to be guaranteed entry to the tastings of your choice on the night, due to popular demand.
