The Brewing Equipment & Technology show opens next week

By James Russell: The Brewing Equipment & Technology show opens next week

May 12, 2016

H&C News meets with suppliers regularly to keep up to date with the latest product and service innovations, aiming to get the inside track on what companies offer to the market and how it is delivered.

Steve Diprose, Managing Director of Quartz Business Media Ltd

This week, we met with Steve Diprose, Managing Director of Quartz Business Media Ltd at their offices in Surrey to gain a better understanding of the business.

The Quartz Group specialise in the organisation of B2B events and the publishing of market-leading magazines and directories across a range of portfolios and geographical locations. Quartz Business Media’s upcoming event is the UK’s first ever B2B/ trade show for the beer and brewing industry, Brewing Equipment & Technology.

How did you come up with the idea for the Brewing Equipment & Technology show?

The idea for the show was in response to the ever growing demand from both current and aspiring brewers. With three new breweries opening in the UK each week and approximately 100 breweries opened last year alone, the brewing market continues to grow as one in five breweries plan to double their current production and sales by 2018.

So what can people expect from the two day show?

The show essentially promises to be a high quality event for brewers, micro-brewers, craft brewers and anyone that has a keen interest in beer and brewing, and wishes to seek inspiration and practical advice. Visitors will learn about the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in brewing.

The show has been curated by Larry Nelson, a high profile publisher and will play host to an array of top industry speakers such as Christa Sandquist, Head Brewer at Ilkley Brewery; Rupert Thompson, Director at Adnams and Nigel McNally, Founder of Brookfield Drinks.

As the show is In association with the Brewers’ Guardian and The Brewery Manual, there will be a full programme of seminars geared to making visitors’ business bigger and better, covering topics such as financing/ starting your brewery, global trends in craft brewing, new routes to market, brand building success and beer style innovations.

The exhibition will also be home to suppliers from all around the world, allowing brewers to source new ingredients and equipment, and find out everything they need to know when it comes to technology, measuring and monitoring tools, training, packaging, branding, consultancy and ingredients.

How can people secure places at the show?

Is this a one-off event in 2016?

No, we very much want the Brewing Equipment & Technology event to become the “must-go-to” diary date for brewers and aspiring brewers alike year-on-year. With the brewing industry growing so rapidly in the UK, we are confident that this will become an annual event not to be missed for everyone working in the beer trade.

H & C News comment

We are looking forward to seeing this new show open its door to our industry when it opens next week at the NEC. It promises to be quite an event.
