Angus Hotel Announces Significant New Service For Clientele

By James Russell: Angus Hotel Announces Significant New Service For Clientele

May 17, 2016

A leading Angus hotel has announced the creation of a new transport service which is set to boost a host of charitable causes.

The Glenesk Hotel & Conference Centre in Edzell has recently launched a free transfer service for patrons living within a 20-mile radius of the hotel.  Offering door-to-door transport for the hotel’s pre-booked restaurant diners, the service is offered free of charge in return for a donation to a range of suggested local and national charities.

Glenesk Hotel & Conference Centre co-proprietor Dylan Wren said: “We want our guests to relax and safely enjoy a drink with their meal should they wish to.  This new service, which we are offering in-house, allows that to be the case.

“As this is free, we thought it would be a good opportunity to give something back so we are offering our passengers the chance to make a donation to a charity of their choice.  All of the money we collect will be passed on either to one of the ten charities we have selected, or to another charity chosen by the donor.”

Alison Smith, Head of Economic Development at Angus Council added: “The Glenesk Hotel & Conference Centre has introduced an innovative way to meet customer requirements and enhance the overall visitor experience.

“With the introduction of their new transport service they are quite literally going the extra mile to provide their customers with the opportunity to experience the fantastic local produce on offer in the hotel restaurant.  I would encourage other like-minded businesses to look at new and innovative ways that they too could add value to their business.”

The 120-year-old Glenesk Hotel & Conference Centre in Edzell has recently been the subject of a major, three-year refurbishment programme which has focused on upgrading the venue’s public areas and increased the number of bedrooms to 38.  In addition to lifting the venue from three to four-star status, the project has also created 12 new permanent jobs, plus additional seasonal posts, with staff numbers expected to rise further pending additional upgrading work which is in the pipeline.
