Ahi Poké to open in Fitzrovia

By James Russell: Ahi Poké to open in Fitzrovia

May 18, 2016

Coming to Fitzrovia in June 2016, Ahi Poké will be a casual, all-day restaurant serving poké: a Hawaiian raw fish dish. Ahi Poké is the new concept from Jeremy Coste, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and David Bellaiche, the young trio behind Mayfair’s NAC (North Audley Cantine, 2013) and Chez Chow (2015). Ahi Poké will be a fast, casual all-day dining space – offering eat in, grab and go, and delivery – that will embrace the ideals of nutrition, sustainability and variety.

Located on Percy Street, on the corner of Charlotte Street and Rathbone Place, the new 25-cover restaurant is inspired by simple Hawaiian beach shacks crossed with the laid-back poké bar vibes of L.A, where the team researched the concept. Conceived around the evolving topic of responsible eating, Ahi Poké will serve food that retains its full nutritional value, made fresh to order, using premium, sustainable produce.

Ahi Poké is designed for the individual who seeks variety, quality and dynamic flavours, and this is reflected in the menu. Alongside signature dishes, there will be customisable combinations that give every individual the opportunity to build their own Poké Bowl, choosing a base (quinoa, sushi rice, or red kale); a protein (ahi tuna, the fish classically used in poké, sea bream, salmon, all sourced from socially responsible fisheries, or marinated mushrooms); a sauce; and toppings. A signature Poké Bowl (ahi tuna, sushi rice, scallions, red onion, black sesame, avocado, furikake, sesame shoyu) will be priced at just £11.

Designed to emulate a beach café using sustainable materials such as reclaimed wood and driftwood among bright white and nautical blue hues, there will be inside and outside seating. Sustainability will also translate into the packaging, with compostable containers used for all orders.

Ahi Poké will open in mid-June 2016 at 3 Percy Street in Fitzrovia. Opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 11.30am to 8pm and will cater for eat-in, takeaway and delivery. The website is
