Orée boulangerie and kitchen opens in Fulham

By James Russell: Orée boulangerie and kitchen opens in Fulham

March 17, 2016

Orée has opened its first UK café at 275 – 277 Fulham Road.  Making its debut today, the new 2,949 sq ft premium French artisan patisserie and boulangerie, which is spread over two floors, marks the first step in a rollout across London.

Founded by Laurent d’Orey, Orée is famous for its artisan recipes, including 12 different varieties of bread such as Rye, Sourdough, Buckwheat, Nordic and Japanese, as well as a seasonal ‘bread of the month’.

Orée will offer freshly baked viennoiserie, artisan bread and fine patisserie, alongside a selection of breakfast dishes, salads, coffees and a wide variety of teas, to eat-in, or takeaway.  As well as the brand’s full range of breads and pastries, the French style kitchen will also cater for those looking for healthier alternatives with a unique range of gluten-free breads.  All bread will be freshly baked on-site with a working bakery being part of the ground floor design that customers can see in action.

The new bakery café includes a 38-cover internal seating area.  Designed by specialist agency, Shed, Orée’s interiors are largely reflective of the tradition that France is renowned for, with white marble-top tables and surfaces, pale blue and gold branding hand-painted by Lucien Helle, France’s last practicing traditional ornamental glass artist.  Meanwhile, exposed white-washed brickwork and large glass display counters gives Orée a light and airy feel.

Commenting on opening of the new bakery, Hannah Grievson, Commercial Property Manager at Sloane Stanley said: “Orée is a great new addition to the Fulham Road and typical of the growing number of exciting brands that are actively seeking space on the Estate.  The Fulham Road attracts a vibrant community and strong retail footfall, and Oree’s choice to introduce a new concept store on the Fulham Road that will be launched across London is a very strong endorsement of the area as a leading international destination.”

Laurent d’Orey, the founder of Orée Boulangeries added: “The Sloane Stanley Estate is a well-managed Estate that is complemented by an impressive variety of international and lifestyle brands.  Combined with the availability of a perfect unit, it was the obvious choice for the start of our expansion.”

The opening of Orée on the Fulham Road follows a very successful 12 months for the Sloane Stanley Estate, with a series of leading brands launching on the King’s Road and Fulham Road, including debut stores for couture milliner, Jane Taylor, Danish womenswear brand, Noa Noa and leading lifestyle brand, Woven.  AnnaLena, the Italian couture brand, is the latest brand to join the retail line up on the Fulham Road.
