Hilton Cambridge City Centre Adds to Culinary Offering with new Head Chef

By James Russell: Hilton Cambridge City Centre Adds to Culinary Offering with new Head Chef

March 10, 2016

Hilton Cambridge City Centre heats up its food offering as executive head chef, Kiran Selvarajan, joins the team, bringing over 19 years of culinary experience to the role.

Kiran, who has a proven track record of delivering culinary excellence in two AA Rosette winning restaurants, is looking to put the hotel on the food map in the city with a refreshed, new menu. Alongside this, Kiran will be introducing the hotel’s very first Sunday lunch offering in the distinguished Book Room restaurant.

Prior to his role at Cambridge City Centre Hotel, Kiran worked as an executive head chef at Nidd Hall Hotel in Harrogate and oversaw three kitchens and a brigade of 26 chefs in the award winning restaurant. He started his culinary career in India, working in a variety of five-star establishments and received training in fine dining and banqueting meals. Kiran soon made his name in the culinary industry and worked in some of India’s top hotels, catering for royalty including Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II, and former President, Bill Clinton.

Kiran, who has accumulated an array of awards in his chef whites, commented: “My first job in the UK was at the Cambridge Belfry Hotel, so I’m delighted to be returning to a city that I love. I wanted to bring a unique offering to visitors and the residents of Cambridge, and put Hilton Cambridge City Centre on the map. I am looking forward to sharing a new, vibrant menu with customers in due course. I also believe our three-course Sunday lunch menu  is ideal for couples and families looking for laid back, metropolitan dining, right in the heart of the city.”
