Fine-dining Thai Restaurant Group, Patara, is set to open its sixth London restaurant on Hampstead High Street, NW3, this April.
Patara opened its first site in London over 25 years ago with its most recent opening last December on Berners Street. With sites across London in Soho, Oxford Circus, Knightsbridge and South Kensington including casual dining restaurant SUDA in Covent Garden, the group operate worldwide also in Bangkok, Geneva, Vienna, Singapore & Beijing.
Split between two floors, the 110-cover restaurant has been expertly designed by Superfutures (Barrafina, Chotto Matte, Peyton & Byrne, Quo Vadis), taking inspiration from intricate Thai architecture. Combining the contemporary, comfortable and traditional with subtle references to Thai culture and history through the use of exquisite raw materials, stone carvings and decorative motifs. Marbled panels, elaborate ceiling lighting and splashes of royal sapphire blue and marble sky blue surround a mix of banquette style seating, tables and chairs.
Open all day, with an average spend per head of £30, Patara Hampstead will be offering lunch including lighter options, Thai-style afternoon tea and dinner. Thai classics that diners have come to expect will include Chor Muang – hand-crafted flower dumplings with caramelised chicken, sweet turnip, peanut, and crispy shallot filling, topped with coconut cream reduction; pan-seared Black cod with ginger, shiitake mushrooms, pickled soya and yellow bean sauce and King Prawn Pad Thai complete with rice noodles, tofu, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, and sweet turnip.
A comprehensive list of wines, especially chosen to compliment the flavours of Thai cuisine, sit alongside signature cocktails, created from a unique infusion of premium spirits with freshly pounded herbs and spices, exotic fruits and fresh juices.
Andy Holman, Managing Director comments: “Patara has a strong brand identity symbolising authentic Thai tradition. We are very excited about expanding our restaurant portfolio across London and look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to our Patara restaurant in Hampstead.”
