Rugby is back making the headlines with Six Nations 2016 and where better to watch and celebrate than at Young’s and Geronimo pubs. Following their successful Rugby World Cup partnership, the group have once again teamed up with Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby, to provide the best warm-up action to the more beautiful game, from meeting the legends of rugby to winning raffles as well as some nail-biting clinches.
The Player at the Pumps series will see former rugby heroes, Andy Gomarsall MBE, Lee Mears and Ollie Phillips pull your pints behind the bar from the extensive selection of Young’s real ales and London craft beers. The players will host an evening of great food and sporting company with an up close and personal Q&A. Tickets can be purchased by contacting each pub directly.

Alongside Wooden Spoon activity, each pub will also be showing all the games live throughout the tournament. VIP-style Hospitality Boxes offering personalised HD TV screens and fully stocked beer fridges for groups of friends to gather and enjoy every minute of the action will be available.
Last year, as part of their Rugby World Cup campaign, Young’s raised an impressive £130,000 for Wooden Spoon, in excess of their initial £100,000 target. This year, they’re hoping to add to this and are aiming to reach a target of £50,000 taking the grand total to £180,000 via ticket sales, raffles and donation boxes. Raising money for the HITZ programme, in association with Premiership Rugby, Young’s Pubs aims to help disadvantaged kids who’ve had a hard start in life a second chance through education and vocational training.
